I use this site whenever I have a question about digital cameras and what real users think of them. Good luck.

High marks for the Pentax Optio 43WR.... field-tested in Alaska 2 weeks ago.

Camera paid for itself on the first day out. One of my companions was stepping out of the boat to take a picture and FELL.... head to toe dunking, including my camera. This camera lived up to its submersible claims. Got lots of awesome pics afterward:

eyeFISH Alaska, Part 2

eyeFISH Alaska, Part 3

This is the only digital camera on the market that can be submerged without having to purchase a special waterproof housing.

I love it!

FNP, those pics are a great testimony! Terrific shots and a great story as well.....enjoyed them all. Not nearly as much as you did, THAT'S for sure.

I have the Olympus Stylus, and I love it. I get extra water resistance by storing it in a Pelican case.

Are the parts for these waterproof cameras corrosion proof? If not then I'm not totally sure I'd want to take one on a saltwater fishing trip. Anyone able to give an account of whether these waterproof digicams can take some banging? I for one can't ever seem to be careful with my cameras and inevitably they get jostled around sometimes, but don't ever take serious damage.

Most of the pix I've had up over the past year come from a Pentax Optio 33.

Same as the 43 mentioned earlier but earlier model with less res.

I don't use a case for it. It's small enough I just put around my neck and carry with me everu day in the winter time inside the hooded sweatshirts I wear in the winter.

Great pix, small size and it made it outdoors for an entire winter in Forks, need I say more \:\)
