Looks like fun!

No. Many were caught on 1141's, but that doesn't count.

Oh yeah, an I also broke another IMX 1141s yesterday. This one was only used twice. It took minimal effort to bust this rod. Stupid defective rods...... \:\(

So far, I've busted 3 IMX's and still counting.....

Nice fish there Parker!

I wouldn't care if you used eggs under a flyrod..heck, its the battle on the rod that makes the difference, IMO. Bait, fly, whatchamacallit...hooking the fish and getting it to the net are the keys

If you think catching one on eggs with a fly rod was cool... wait till you get one to come to the surface to grab a skater!

Karma rule # 1- Never take a picture of a fish on... Can't tell you how many photos I have that show me with a big old bend in the rod and then no fish picture.... A couple of them make me sick to look at.. Some real hogs that got away.. If you take a picture before the fish is landed you just reduced your chances of landing it by about 65 %... You will get away with it on a small fish, but when it really matters you will break your own heart...

True story... Never let people take your picture with a fish on... Remember that... Its serious stuff.

Dandy pictures and fish!

Any followup on that auction, Parker? A private email message will work for me. I emailed you some time ago, but no response. I figure if I bid a hundred bucks, I deserve at least an explanation as to why my bid didn't stand up, especially since I never saw a higher bid posted......or did I miss it? Did Anyone see a higher bid....anywhere? I could have just missed the post here and at ifish. If that's the case, I do sincerely apologize.

You rock as a fisherman and have contributed a ton of fun stuff to this BB and ifish, but this last auction thing has me somewhat tweaked. It's not that I need or even want the gear, it's just the mysterious way the whole thing came off. Heck, I could care less if you changed your mind and decided not to sell the stuff, but I would think you would have just said so.

Any clarification would be helpful.

And for anyone else who is curious about this subject....I'll let you know that I'm through with it....whether I get a real answer or whether everyone just pretends it never happened....makes no difference.

Let's Fish!!

what do you do with your IMX? maybe the new ones suck. I have had a 1025C for almost 10 years. From steelies to king, chums in fast water to kings in AK and it rocks. Even trolled with it in salt water.

Sorry, but I wanted to make sure it was cool with the winner before posting anything public. I did get private email bids. Catch and Eat over on ifish was bidder on the box-o-stuff. I don't have the number in front of me, but it was something like $125 or $130. Jennie, over at ifish, did say she'd give half of that to Bob. Looks like everyone is a winner! Bob said something about donating to Eric's sons chair, so that is cool!

As to why I did that? Why not? Seemed like a cool thing to do. Glad to see that both boards shared the wealth, and maybe some deserving kid, too!

My busted rod went back to IMX to get replaced. The nice thing about Loomis is that unless you do something stupid and break the rod yourself, they are really good at warranty service on those IMX's. All 3 of my broken IMX's were replaced via warranty service.

I must say it was a kick in the pants when parker hooked the fish on the fly rod. We spent more time getting it out of logs than fighting it. There's nothing worse than 1 to 1 retrieve ratio. But we saved the fly rod for the end of the day and the fresh fish on the tide so we wouldn't have a problem getting him hooked up on it.

Parker stood on the bow, peeled off about 50 feet of free line onto the deck and made a perfect cast. Then next thing I know I was turned around and I heard that little fly reel buzzing. I couldn't quit laughing while taking the pictures....

I even had a chance to fight it for a second, I respect those that have landed a hot fish on a fly rod.... Definitely some work there....

Nothing wrong with fishing eggs with a flyrod/line/reel. 60% of all flyfish caught fish in Alaska were using EGG PATTERNS, they just weren't real eggs. Whats the dif...Nothing.

Nice fish. Next, try catching steelies with fly or nymph patterns, it will give you a different perspective to flyfishing for Steelhead.
The adrenaline is totally higher when you actually catch a Steelhead on a fly or nymph pattern, trust me.
Good luck!
