well, after five years of putting in my time, i'm finally tying the knot to a great girl on the 3rd of july....cabo san lucas honeymoon had to be cancelled due to an unexpected lump in her belly (the rhythm method didn't work so well)but we are spending the next week at banks lake with friends so that will be nice...is there anyone out there that would be willing to take a newlywed floating for some summer steel and maybe discuss some of the finer points of making this marriage work?? i've never fished the cowlitz from a boat and would be very grateful if someone could set me up...i can provide a turnaround vehicle, beer, lunch, etc. and i have all my own gear and bait...can someone please help a guy out?? preferred date would be monday july 14th.....if i sound desperate it's because I AM!!

Good Luck!

Congrats! BTW, the "rhythm" method never did work for anyone...(didn't for me either..20 yrs. ago)

Can't help you much with the summer fish, but come winter (Dec, Jan) your more than welcome to drop me a PM and we can have a go at the Skagit brats.

I'm certainly no pro (this will be year 2), but like you will be in your new marriage, we can figure it out as we go. Got the DB and gear...don't drink beer..just Yukon Jack...but just a sip in the late afternoon (aka 100 proof, shoulder lubricating casting oil).

As to marriage(s), I've had more than most. This one's a keeper, so be glad to offer any advice I can, based on mucho experience.

Be patient with yourself, and moreso with her....marriage is a wonderful drift if you plan well and give back as much love as you get.

phil,

let me get this straight......
you're getting married to a great girl,
you've got a bundle of joy on the way
AND
you want a drift trip for the three of you???????

Now that's what I call moochin'! \:D

Anyway, congratulations and God bless you and your new family.

The best advice I ever heard about marriage was from a gentleman I knew celebrating his 50th anniversary who said (stop me if you've heard this one), 'We stayed married for as long as we have because I make sure that I always get the last word. Which is, "Yes, dear".'

I'm out of town till just after that and I'd have to take you on the Kalama or Lewis, Lewis if water low. I have to check my calender but if you're up for a trip after that, let me know. Glad to oblige.
