I just acquired an aluminum boat for fishing in the Sound and in lakes, and I plan to get out to Sekiu later in the summer.

Any suggestions/recommendations/comments on fish finders? I noticed that Humminbird has some fish finders out that a person can buy an accessory and antenna and add GPS to it. This sounds appealing.

Whatever help you can provide would be appreciated!

I just bought the Eagle Cuda 240 for my 14 footer. It's a combo Sonar / GPS plotter. Haven't tried all of the bells and whistles yet but it seems like a pretty sweet little unit for about $200.

...after you get that sounder don't forget to read all the threads on the black box. IMO, very important.

Try finding a Lowrance X97 at GI Joes. They are clearanced for $99! Just 4 months ago they were $429. Nice machine for a hundred bucks I'm thinkin.
