Well lets just say that I am going to go fishing this weekend and I have been fishing the Sky for what it seems like forever and I cant pick anything up. So I may be interested in fishing in another river. Say the samish or the Skagit which one you think might be more able to pick up a fish. I would like to get into some skagit sockeye but would also like to catch a chinook. I haven't caught anything so far that I am able to take home and throw on the Barbie. If you dont want to post if you could PM that would be well appreciated I feel like a 26 yr old virgin trying to get some for the first time.

Samish - I believe late August / early Sept. is when the king 'fishin' happens there. (term 'fishin' used loosely)

Skagit - Not much of a summer steelhead river and closed to retention of chinook. Lots of upstream dollies/bull trout but you'll have to fish above the Sauk to find any vis.

I'd keep tryin' the Sky. The more you do, the better your odds.

I have put in close to at least 80 to 100 hours on the SKy I cant even get a look at my bait. It is getting frustrating. Think the Sockeye will be hitting on the skagit. I just want to feel a tight line havent even had a bite I forget what one feels like.

The skagit is closed to fishing for kings. That means no retention, and though most people are ignoring it, it also means you can't target them.
Sent you a pm.
