I've recently acquired a bunch of spoon blanks, and I am now starting to assemble them with hooks and split rings.

I have never fished spoons extensively...

Question for you spooning experts: These are smaller-sized spoons (approx equivalent to size 0 and size 1 Dick Nites). Should I attach a swivel to the top split ring, at the mainline end? Or, will the spoon be more effective if I attach the mainline directly to the spoon blank, or attach the mainline directly to the split ring (i.e., no swivel)?

Does it matter?

thanks in advance.

Put a split ring on the spoon, and then attach a barrel swivel to the spit ring. Tie directly to the other end of the barrel swivel.

Good Luck

You definitely want to attach a swivel in order to minimize line twist.

I use a plug clip....totally different/improved action on my BC's and Stilly's since I've switched.
