My 1993 15' Gregor has quite a few holes drilled in the transom from the various transducers mounted in it over the years. At the moment, all the unused holes are plugged with ss screws. Is there any other way to plug these holes? Could they be welded closed? If so, any recommondations on who can do the welding?

I had several holes in my boat that needed to be filled. I just got some rivets, put sealant all around the rivet and hole, making sure it was cleaned, and drove them with a rivet gun...worked great.

If you want to have it welded I'd recommend Glenn's Welding in Lynnwood off 164th just north of Alderwood Mall. I have used them for several welding repairs (including my drift boat when it was hit by a car!) They do a good job and are reasonable.

I also used marine sealant and rivets on my boat too.

I use a guy here in Renton that works for a well known boat builder. He has a shop at his house that he works out of. he does a good job at a fair price. I'm happy with the center console he be built for my boat and he also filled several holes and you can't tell where they were. email me for his info.

Ask AuntyM. I think she posted a link to some sort of do-it-yourself aluminum solder that I'll try if I ever have a need.
