On the water @ 530 AM . Started off trolling in front of Ocean Shores in 36ft of water. 5 mins I hit a fish that proceeds to go to the bottom then head for open ocean. We chase what I think must be the biggest King of my life. 45 min later I got about a 6 ft shark next to the boat. Not sure what kind it was but it wasn't a Blue or Doggy. Any ideas what else swims here? Anyway we got 2 king's, 1 14lbs and 1 25lbs. Two silvers both 7-8 lbs. Weird thing is both silvers caught at 85 + ft down. Kings, 14lber at 40 ft and 25lber at 20 ft. Lots of smaller kings and ton's of wild coho caught and released. Not rocket hot yet but still fun.

Wow! Those silvers sure were fun. We only got one keeper the others had not been clipped.
It was a beautiful day to be on the water. So we did some running around. Started out near Ocean Shores in 30-50ft water. After the morning bite we headed West to 180ft. Also hooked a shark there. (Are there Salmon Sharks that close?) Then we ran out to 230ft.(No luck there!) So we decided to run North about 15 miles. Fished 170ft and had a blast with silvers until another shark showed up. That pretty much killed the bite so we called it a day.
All our fish came on green label size herring motor mooched at 10-70 ft. 4-5 oz sinkers.

We were one of a few boats that did not stay in close by Ocean Shores...

We ran out NW from the bar to 220 feet of water and hit a bunch of silvers (about a dozen). Three were keepers 6 - 7 lbs. Also picked up an 18 lb king.

After things slowed down around noon, we ran south to the fleet of boats fishing straight out from the North jetty in 220 feet. Didn't get a hit.

Pulled up and ran west to 280 feet of water and fished a tide rip. Put 2 more silvers in the box and another 18 lb king. C&R'd a 5 foot shark...thought it was a 40 lb king...

Lots of wild silvers in the water!!

We caught most of our fish 40 feet down on blue label herring. Some of the fish were 60 feet down.

Beautiful ocean conditions...I'd take 100 days of fishing like that.

I got most of the smaller kings in 180' of water and the silvers and larger king in 230'. Once the tide started to move we fished the rips and caught a lot of unclipped coho.

Oh, by the way, the GPS information is posted at the Westport boat ramp. The charter boats were running up towards the North Bowl (about 20 miles.) \:\)
