could anyone imagine a group of 30-50 new nice cabins fully furnished with emenities and idividual boats assigned to each rented by the month during salmon season. owned and rented out by a group of die hard fishermen who had developed a group to speak on our behalf and work hand in hand with WDFW? oooowwwwwww! someone just pinched me and I am now sitting on the sofa drinking cheap beer and looking for a free boat ride.
it would be nice, unfortunately I agree with the above posts, the resort would depend to much on the current regs and they always seem to overlook the HUGE boost sportsmen provide to the economy and give in favor of the tribes. heres an idea, what do the tribes get per pound for thier fish? lets tell the WDFW to sell salmon tags at a higher rate, but with the gauratee that sportsmen get 100 percent of the quota. added to that, any business selling salmon tackle must add 5% to thier prices as a surcharge. this surcharge combined with the salmon tag fee's would go to pay the tribes the equivelent of what they would have made fishing. (they could still buy a tag and fish like the rest of us) I can almost assure anyone involved this would make a ton more money for the WDFW, the tribe and lets not even begin to speak about the local economy. I bet Olsens wouldn't be for sale!
