Anyone know where to find the results of the Indian netting in the bay?
Thanks

Just go ask the Indians when they're in Alki Tavern trying to trade some of the Kings they caught in Elliott Bay for cases of beer.

It is my understanding that there is not one fish left in Elliott bay due to the recent netting. In addition, I believe there has been a conspiricy regarding the sockeye count at the locks. Don't tell anyone, but over 1 million sockeye have entered Lake Washington. I have heard from a very reliable source that Saturday morning they are going to increase the limit to 8 fish per person. I encourage everyone, and I mean everyone that has a boat to fish Lake Washington Saturday morning.

And in return I will let all of you know how the fishing was at Elliott Bay.

Hey there Sky-Guy, I'm pretty sure that the post was made by a guy planning to fish Elliott Bay who wanted to encourage more boats to go to Lake Washington. He ended his post with this:

"And in return I will let all of you know how the fishing was at Elliott Bay."

So don't get too fired up. I think he was joking. \:D

Pete the Fish Checker asked me to let everyone know that there was no Net Fisherie Wednesday evening. He says that the net fisherie will be some what limited, perhaps 3 or 4 boats starting later this summer.

I do not know how to verify this information.

He also is checking at Armeni today. I will give him a call later and post some numbers.

Of course I was joking. People need to lighten up. They read something and immediatly get defensive or have something nasty to way. Fishing is suppose to be a good time. I hope everyone on Lake Washington, Elliott Bay, Bubble, etc. get fish. Thats what its all about. Good luck to everyone. I'll be at one of em.

Thanks for the info GutZ.....

I called the Muckleshoot tribe to get the skinny on the test fishery and ended up talking with their fish biologist for awhile. He was quite helpful and confirmed what I'd heard elsewhere. The tribe does a test fishery on Wednesday nights (5 boats, 5 locations) during most the weeks when we get to fish. I can't recall if netting starts on the 21st or 28th, but it continues into August. Typically net counts are low during the first few outings then increase as the peak of the run hits in August. Worth mentioning - Wednesdays were chosen so both parties get a fair crack at the fish and have the least impact on one another's fishery.

Edit: Looking forward to your report from Pete.
