Just wanted to know if anyone did good in the bay over the weekend...think I will hit it hard the next few weeks and might have an open seat available on occasion...I will post any availability for a boatless gent as I was there myself many years and know what it is like. Tight lines!

Was out Friday for the opener. Banged a 20lb. Lost two. Seem like the bite was only on for a few hours. Should just get better by next weekend, unless the Muck over do it this week with their netting.

I'm new to this salmon thingy. Lived here since 91 and the only salmon fishing I did was with the CG in Alaska. Zeroed out today on Lk. Washington but also interested in Elliot Bay for next weekend (wife and boy are gone for 5 days starting Saturday). What kind of rig is best for Kings in the Bay?

Downriggin, talked with the fish checker on Friday and he checked the 40lb native . He said it was caught right in front of Salty's. I would say thats an ol'school fish. Kinda like the normal size ones I heard my uncle used to get out in Elliot before I was even a thought in my parents minds. Hope thats a sign for some large fish this year. Mount10man, really no secrets out there. Hot spot with hoochie or cut plug will work. Zero on where most of the traffic is. Key thing go deep for these fish 120+. I perfer to troll under 2.0 and have had succes. I will be out there this weekend unless they reopen Lake WA. again. I'll have the VHF on, 68. See on the water.

This is a great board.
I was out on Sunday... but those fish didn't make their way in to my boat. However I saw fish being caught all around me. (10 AM or so)
This was the first time I fished Ellliot Bay, and if anything I think I was trolling too fast for those kings.
This is pretty new to me.
What y'all having success with? Speed? Depth? Set up?
I was at 100' - 130' with dodger - hoochee or spoon.

I am the Dogfish Slayer. Hardware or maybe jigging will probably serve better than the trolled whole herring I was using. I got them all the way down to 180 feet. What a joy that is with the Penn 600.

Fishing sunday seemed slow, did not see a lot of boats, so watch out for next weekend ( It will be packed). we did manage to catch 2 Kings 15 lbs ,115 ft range on the Downrigger we were trolling 1.8 - 2.1 on the speedo.. hopefully the Indians won't wipe it out it can be a good fishery!

Tight lines! That's a nice, thoughtful and refreshing offer to fellow anglers. All the combat fishermen out there that are more concerned about themselves and offering others the "you're #1 sign" could learn something from summerrun.

Seems Elliott Bay fish are caught a little deeper than most...120'+ (on average).
Trolling speed... unless the fish are stacked up in front, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Piss 'em off with something big and noisy. With that, I prefer to cover water- 3.0kts!
