Good morning, Lord. This is the day you have made and it is also Drews’ surgery day. Lord, we are helpless to do for Drew what only you can do. Who can we turn to but you for all that he needs? We humbly ask for your hand of protection upon him today and the healing touch that only you can provide.
Lord, we thank you for how you have touched our hearts through this young man and his loving family. Please bless each one of them today and grant them your strength, courage and peace, so they will also know that you are near as they go through this difficult time together.
Lord, we thank you for the gifted doctors and care givers that will attend Drew today. Please bless them too and give them steady hands, clear minds and the wisdom to do your will.
Lord, we praise you because it is not only your will to heal but also to restore us to abundant life with you forever.
Lord, as you heal Drews’ heart today, graciously heal ours as well. Help us to bring our weak, defective, wounded, selfish and hardened hearts to you in exchange for your true, pure and loving heart, that we would be made fit to serve you and share your great love with others while we still can. To you be all honor and glory this day.

Good luck to your son and your family. I know how nice it is to have people pulling for you. I just got done with some major back surgery and it's awful nice to have people praying for you. Getting down on your knees and praying for Gods help will never go out of style. The kids and I will pray for Drew tonight when I put them to bed. Take care Buddy.

I can see that I was just one of many who said a prayer for Dan S and his family that would be having a long day today while Drew was in surgery.

I know he's in great hands at Childrens Hospital and I'm confidedent everthing will go well--but it never hurts to have a few words put in on your behalf with the Man upstairs.

It's nice to see all you guys share your kind thoughts, well wishes and prayers for a young angler and the family that loves him.


P.S.--That was a beautiful prayer Mooch--that little fisherman in your avatar is lucky to have such a thoughtful,wise and soulful bigger fisherman for a dad who will no doubt help him really know his Father. Proverbs: chapter 22 verse 6 & Mathew chapter 4 verse 19

Don't know you, but I do know many who have gone thru some tough times this last year.

I think Salmon Stalker said it best - don't pray for a lighter load, pray for the strength to carry the load you've been given.

That being said, I'll join in offering my prayers for Drew - may his shoulders be strong enough for whatever may come his way. He's certainly blessed with a great family!

Drew made it through the surgery with flying colors and he'll probably be discharged from the ICU later tonight. He's a tough kid.....I know he's in a lot of pain, but he's handling it like a big man.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness has made this event much easier on my whole family and Drew is floored that this many people have kept a spot in their prayers for him.

I just hijacked a computer to get online briefly, so if you guys could pass on the good news, I'd appreciate it.

I'll check in in a few days when they send us home, but I have to run now.

Lord, thank you for answering our prayers. Please continue to be with Drew and his family through his recovery. We are so very thankful that your mercies are indeed new every morning and that you know what is best for each and every one of us.
While we are relieved and joyful for what you have done for Drew and his family, we are also saddened by the loss of Ted. Please watch over his family in his absence and comfort us all with the knowledge that this too is part of your perfect plan. Even though there is so much we do not understand, we will place our trust in you.

Well, that was quite a week. We got home yesterday afternoon and Drew is cruising around the house and looking pretty good. He won't take any pain pills though......I think he's sick of being poked and prodded .

Thanks everyone for your support through this procedure. It made it much easier to deal with.

If everything looks good at his check-up next week, he should be good to go for years. I look forward to having him back on the river real soon.
