Opens Friday, July 23rd at 12:01 Until further notice

Remember, just because they close it, doesn't mean they won't open it again 2 days later. They meet several time a week with updated fish info.
3 years ago they opened it and closed it 3 times in 1 week!!! That was GREAT! No one on the river that week \:D \:D

If you need DFO web site to check openings and closures here it is again...

We need to send a WDFW management team up there to throttle that fishery back to 2 days.

I'll be up there sun/mon. hope I don't have to cast between the First Nations 24 hour drifting gillnets again like last year.

The sockeye fishery is still very slow ,long hours to get a couple fish with many going home skunked, the springs are quite numerous though and you stand a 50/50 chance of heading home with 1 of these brutes.Fish with gear that can handle a big Spring in strong water or you will be left shaking with a broken leader or straightened hook.I suggest 50lb braided mainline with a 30lb maxima leader.
There are native openings as I print this and the commercials go to work today or tomorrow ,soi I would wait until at least wednesday before coming up.
