Good Morning -

I was observing action at the Kitsap County Salsbury Park Ramp. 0530-0645 there were five guys fishing (four from the beach / one from the float). Saw no hits/hook-ups. Saw one fish break water. Two seals were swiming up and down the beach.

Thanks for the report. It seems the chinook have blasted right through your neck of the woods. We already see silvers south of Ayok Pt. This looks like the pilot run ,so the others should be showing up soon.

I saw a few jumpers north or the bridge last night and a one nice chinook caught and released. Wish I remembered the poles, we were just getting, trying to get crab though.

What are the best times and best tides for fishing in that area??? Understand casting or trolling with fresh herring works best!
Waiting to hit the silvers in Port Gamble! Thanks for your reports!

I like fishing it on the outgoing tide, though I have done well on the incoming also. There is one guy that fishes using herring that frankly out does everyone else. He is outstanding! Most folks use Buzz Bombs. I would say < 10% use bait.

Where do you fish in Gamble Bay? Fly fish, troll or cast bait/hardware to 'em?

TL,
My fishing buddy turned me on to Gamble Silvers casting rooster tails 1/8 oz green gold speckel lure at the end of a Gamble Bay inlet creek. Fish were particular to the bite because of abundance of bait and their goal to spawn.
History of Silvers in Gamble relate to the past Indian hatchery that was abandoned due to funding. To this date....fishery return every three+ years to continue legacy in the 1000's. We have witnessed strong runs in the past with commercials reaping in harvest. Return runs were abundant and successful on Sportmans limits. From experience, the catch rate is better at the beginning of the run. To this date, I have been waiting for local reports on Gamble Silvers.....stay tuned in ......
FISH ON!!!

I live at the Bottom of Port Gamble Bay. The fish are not there yet. Salsbury was dead this morning. One follow up to me with a nice wake but that was about it.

I was there today also.
I was the guy with a goatee fly fishing with the guy who caught 2 on the buzz bomb. After you left he had another one on and my other friend had one on as well. I did not hear the end of it.

I was out there on Saturday morning and it was SLOW. Ran up to Foulweather and saw some jumpers but couldn't hook up. Not marking many fish at all.

I headed down towards Seabeck to do some crabbing later in the day and saw a lot more jumpers so Quilcene should be picking up, especially with the rain we had.

I was extremely disappointed in the crabbing on Saturday. I was out there three weeks ago and had pots loaded with keepers. This time out I probably went through 150 crab to get two before I bailed out and headed home. Does anyone know if the tribes have been out hitting it hard north of Seabeck? I just can't think of any other reason for the crabbing to be so poor, especially after I have had such a good season in this same spot for the past two months.
