Any body catching COHO yet in area 11? How bout during the DesMoines derby? I saw a couple posts (dowriggin) with Kings (NICE!), but was wondering if the little guys are splashing yet....
Boat still broke, buddies all busy-workin, wah, wah, wah!
Hope I can fish today ("Should be done before noon..." ) .

Their starting to show. Little still early. Lost one at the boat on Derby day. Had a alot of pull to it. Brother inlaw and I figured it was around a 6lb plus or minus. Saw others catch and release a few.

ErnDog-

Thanks. I went yesterday (8/9/04).
Three tree (about 1330hrs-1630hrs.) to test out my repaired lower unit, and fish a bit. One take, no fish netted, but saw several boats landing 5-6 lb'ers.

Boat 1:
Green flasher, green/glow squid 'tween 40'-60' off the rigger.
Boat 2:
Medium dodger and squid (one appeared to have herring some of the time) off the rigger.
These guys were hauling 'em in (or so it appeared).

Boat 3: Couldn't see the rigs, never got close enough to ask...
landed a couple

Didn't mark many fish, but those I did were really shallow (30'-40') on the North side of the point.

I didn't see any Dingles (Kings) while out.

Wanted to stay till dark, but out of town guest was not used to being in a boat that long.
(All day is about normal for me, easy limit notwithstanding, so I cut it short as a courtesy).
Plus, I only brought two beers and no herring!!

Thanks for the reply.
