I'll let you all form an opion on this, I'm not sure what to think. Now we can keep smaller Chinook that would be bigger next year, assuming they are feeders and not returning Kings? What do you all think, I know there are going to be a few opions?

Yeah, fishing isn't as good as forecasted so modify/ease the rules to increase harvest. Bet that'll never ever happen in the strait or sound.

I'm going to Westport this weekend, but I'm NOT bringing home any 24" kings. I'd rather come home with nothing...

Again! The fish counting is pure bull s!@t. I spent three days up a Neah bay a week ago and never saw a single frigging fish checker. How do they know if I was even up there? How many fish did our group catch. They are just guessing. Thats great science! Wanna know how many fish we'll catch newt week? I'll just get my dart board out and...... alright I hit a 30! that means we'll have caught 3,000 coho this week in area four. Hey this is pretty easy work! I should work for the WDFW!

Double 15? Triple 10? There's no 30 on a dart board! ;\)

They had two checkers working the Coho in Sekui last weekend. One was kind of a cutie, too!

I did see a WDFW Officer at Big Salmon on 5 July.

I spent 4 days at Neah in mid July and there were half a dozen checkers running around the marina. If you didn't pull up to the cleaning station, they would come to your boat.

We also got checked 2/3 day at Neah bay. Both at the dock and on the water. Kinda fun watching that big boat stay next to you during 9-11 foot swells

I believe that WDFW is juggling the size restriction for the purpose of higher "adult" chinook numbers. Ocean conditions have not been favorable for angling success so they are changing the size. This way they can still try to justify the commie harvest later this fall. Because they are still shooting for the "maximun sustainable yield" rather than dealing with adjusting run size forecasts. This will ensure the commie fishery and then after they've netted thier "share" the run forecast will be updated and the angling public will once again get the shutdowns.

I agree with CD, the drice is not worth a 24 incher. I can do that good in the sound which is only a 15 minute drive.
