I'm still bumming around on vacation (been on vacation since 8/9!). I took my Dad, two nephews Jason and John, as well as my oldest daughter Katie out to Neah Bay for some Coho action.
Jason quickly c-n-r'd 2 wild Coho within the first 10 minutes of fishing. We then went on a streak of 6 straight hatchery fish! Katie landed the first fish of the day, John the second. we had several doubles through out the day, Katie and John having the honors most of the time. Jason had big fish honors with a very healthy 10lb Coho.
This by far was one of the most memorable trips I've ever been on. There is nothing like watching kids catching salmon and having an absolute blast! My Dad and I sat back and enjoyed every minute of it, he and I never touched a rod all day, the kids went to town!
I hope to be apart of this every year, the memories are truly priceless.
We have a date with Possession bar tonight, just after we set the crab pots.

Vacation really sucks! I don't see how I can go back to work....

Kev,

Where were you hitting them? My son Justin and I were there last weekend and ended up fishing in front of Wadah to a mile or so west of it and did really well. On sunday we got about 8 kings and 7 silvers before we got our limits. The last two on the flyrod trolling really fast on the surface! What fun! I'm heading out again this weekend if I can!

We worked Neah Bay on Monday and Tuesday and had a great time. Due to the incredibly calm weather I was able to go past Tatoosh and get into some really large silvers and a few kings. At one point we were just having fun watching all of the big silvers chase our darts right under the boat. A lot of guys I talked too said the wild/hatchery ratio was around 4:1 but we thought it was closer to 2:1. We had a harder time catching decent sized Kings though. We caught a 25 and a 15 and quite a few 5 lb Blackmouth. Did see one at the cleaning table that likely went 35 to 40 and it was very bright.

But the silvers... They are so big this year. Did not get to go down the coast for bottomfish as the fog was just too thick and we were new to the area out there. All in all though an awesome trip! Just wish I had not left the fly rod at home as it would have been easy pickings.

Did pick up a 18 lb King off the Slag Pile this morning. Fish was starting to get a little dark but will be great on the BBQ.

Gary-

Sounds like we were fishing in the same area. My dad has a bad back so that prevented us from running out west of Tatoosh. We were there for the kids anyway.
I'm really looking forward to Sekiu in September. Should be nuts!
