Just off the phone with my buddy Geoff fishing out of Ilwaco. Limts the last 5 days on Herring at Bouy ten to Clatsop spit, fish are all "dandy's" to 43 #'s. I wish I could go.

I would run 4/0 5/0 with 40 or 50# leader. They aren't shy and having a monster strike that snaps a lighter leader realy puts a damper on things. If you dont tie any up and use them right away at least buy the heavier line to have it available.

I just came back from there. Buoy 10 is cool. 40-50 lb leaders, like Sky-Guy said. He is not kidding. They will break you off. I know. Going back Saturday. It should be a madhouse. Pay attention if you've never fished it before, The wind can throw you off course very easily. Not to mention the current. It is close quarter fishing at it's finest Did I mention Buoy 10 was cool?

Yeah we fished inside this last wednsday and thursday inside and boy was it slow, we seen a few fish caught and had one hit. It has really slowed down. The bar was nasty so the Ocean wasn't an option. Friday the bar cleared up and we shot across and had limits by 11am of silvers, saw no kings though.
