The indians netted about 4000 fish right in front of the creek yesterday.

Good luck.

Do they net on a regular schedule? It would be nice to plan a trip so that it isn't the day after their netting. Or, do they net daily, now?

I was driving past there on Monday and the fish are getting dark already. I'm thinking the rain will condense the fishing season down there.

I have been fishing out there almost every day since early last week. Not much around the hatchery. But landed quite a few in Lilliwaup and north at the point. Jigging with a white dart was good for me in the morning and trolling spoons in 50 to 75 feet of water paid off during the rest of the day.

Jeeper,

I have noticed that the real fishermen (those not trying to snag fish) have a tough time near the hatchery.....I think they get lock jaw because they're so intent on getting up into a blocked off stream.

Plus, the fish are usually in about two feet of water and totally stacked up in an area the size of your living room.

At the hatchery you pretty much have to force feed them (flossing debate anyone???) and you catch them at your feet.

Hey all, I heard there were some nice people here in beautifull washington! So maybee I can get a little help on fishin the hatchery at Hoodsport? I hit it last year for the dogs, and my kids had a blast, but I heard the chinooks are in there now. I called the fishing line at the hatchery (360) 877-5222 and the message said they are in there. Any suggestions on what to use for those guys. I don't want to be a snagger, just a fisherman. Thanks for any info!
