i just saw for the first time today that ande has leader spools of fluorocarbon line in 50 yard spools($10 where i saw it)...i didn't buy any due to the ridiculously high price tag for a frigging 50 yard spool since i already had a bunch of full 500 yard spools of regular ande mono i use for tying leaders not to mention the huge service spools of ande tournament i use for mainline.. so i guess what i'm looking for is who has tried the new ande fluorocarbon and what were the results?? also, who or where can one find it for the best value?? i really want to give it a try but a few things are stopping me, like: gay high price, the fact that i already have a few hundred leaders pretied now, and i have several full spools of regular ande in different poundages....come on people, give a guy some feedback!!!

Am I reading this correct? Ande is the only one that I can find that has 50 yard spools. $10.00 Spunds to cheap. I run the 50# Seagar and it is about $16 for 25 yards. I use a lot of really long leaders in the ocean. They don't go very far only having 75' The only place I saw the Ande is in a catalog. It was a year old and the current price went way up. I am not really sure that you even need Fluorocarbon in the ocean but just do it anyway. Where did you see the Ande Fluorcarbon?

Although that price sounds pretty cheap, I am not sure I would want to switch over from Seaguar. IMO Seaguar is the best regardless of the price.

My brother had some of that Ande fluorcarbon when we went steelheading in Alaska, the stuff was great. Held up very nicely and was very strong too. He said that it was only available to guides, etc., right now, but would be out shortly.

Downriggin, I am not really worried about the price as much but would like bigger spools. 75 feet is not much you run long leaders. This is the biggest I can find with the Seagaur. Especially when I use 10' leaders in the ocean. Sometimes I get some bigger fish on these longer leaders. I was reading up on some Charlie White materials and he said through his filming that really big Chinook tended to not get much closer than 6' to a flasher. Not a fish flash but a flasher. I noticed several years ago at Westport that we were into shakers, 10-12# Blackmouth. I went to a 10' leader and the we instantly got two 20#+ and a 40#. Possibly just a coincidence, but I don't know. I liked the idea of the Ande haveing 50 yds as opposed to the 25 yards of the Seaguar. I used the Vanish when it first came out and after breaking off two big kings with the poor knot strength, I trashed it and didn't trust FC for a long time. I have had no problems with the Seaguar since using it.

Ande makes a great main line but in my opinion is to limp and not resistant enough to abrasions for a leader.

I have used the Ande fluorocarbon. So far it has held up very well. I believe I picked mine up at Bob's in Longview.
