Hi all,
I am new here as you can see, and I am also new to fishing for the salmon. But that doesn't mean i can't try! Anyway, I went out to hoodsport yesteday. My duaghter and I spent all day there, and we saw a couple jump out of the water, but none cuaght. We figured that they might come in with the tide, but no luck. I think I am going to try further north next weekend for the silvers. Any good ideas? Thanks!

go to the quilicene after it rains and you will see a bunch of fish, single barbless hook regulation, nice trails clearly marked, and you can see the fish great with polarized glasses, might be fun for you and your daughter to check it out

I have heard of the quilcene. I will be heading there over the holiday weekend sometime. do you think this is too soon?

I too was at the Hoodsport hatchery on Sunday. Fished from 6 AM til noon. No fish hooked or landed save one poor sculpin. Actually, I think same sculpin got caught twice. Total of 40 or so fisher pitchin' lead at a handful of fish that swam by at 0700. Plenty of jumpin' chums to keep folks excited but they never bite. Talked to a hatchery worker. He said the fish came in strong on Monday after the rain. Still haven't had their big run yet so there is hope still. Call the hatchery sport fishing hotline for latest info. 360--877-5222. Heard from another fisherman that the Quilcene was hot on Monday and Tuesday after the rain but dead this past weekend... if you can believe another fisherman...

give it up the indians netted today and didnt do very well.

I heard that they have already come in strong from talking to one of the workers. after getting skunked, I think there run is done for now. The Indians netted 4,000 and the middle tank was loaded. There through. WIll be fun to take the kids for the chum though!
