Recently I have been fishing the lower puyallup, and have noticed people, especially a certain pair, that have been overlimiting, and keeping foul hooked fish. \:\( They drive to the hole together, crowd into the best spot no matter how many other anglers are already there because they think they own the hole, and use their ten foot leaders to floss silvers. Then they take there fish back up under the trees and sit for awhile to let the scene calm down. While there sitting there, they change clothes to alter their appearance, (hats and shirts), and then they go back out to catch another handful. I have yet to see a punchcard from another angler. \:\( And even though all this is going on, I still haven't seen a game warden. What will it take to get them down there? Oh yeah, and when I got tangled with another newbie's line, no barbless hook in sight. If a warden would get down there he/she could make a killing, and I'm sure 3/4 of the crowd would make a run for it.

P.S., if you have the lisence plate # of the anglers that are doing the overlimiting, can you report them, or is it even worth the time?

It will only stop when there are no more fish in the PU. I grew up in Puyallup and on the Puyallup River. Same story every year. Snagging, Flossing, Littering and it will only get worse. Haven't you guys noticed the matropolis growing in the Orting valley these days. I suppose every guy in every one of those soon to be volcanic flow houses thinks he is a fisherman and now somehow thinks they own the part of the river. Can you say OVERCROWDED! I skip it eventhough its in my back yard. It's a shame.

I was down there yesterday and noticed 2 guys catch their limit early, leave and then come back to catch more at about 1 pm. I don't know if it was the same 2 guys one of them was wearing a fishing vest with a green river steelhead club patch on it. I was pleasantly suprised that I only saw a couple fish foul hooked, and those were lost or released.

I may be down on the Puyallup this weekend. Waders, tan vest, glasses, big guy, dopey looking, yah...the guy stuck in the tree again....If you know someone has too many fish, I will have my cell phone. I am not afraid to make a call or even grab a camera and take a photo or two.

Steve from Bonney Lake

P.S. If anyone down on the Carbon or Puyallup sees someone in a pair of Orvis stocking foot chest waders, let me know. Mine were stolen with my car. Dark green heavy neoprene. XXLT.

Yup, lots of snags, litter, barbed hookes, rookies, un-accounted for children, and un-punched fish hooked in the load bearing anal port. I thought that I was at the Cowlitz at the site of so many 12-foot leaders. Lot's of guys long-lining it too. Good times!

Shaggy and other ostensibly respectable fishers-

Stay away from the puy/carb. for a while. I have had my Hawaiian friend put poi-poi ( big powerful curse) on Mt. Rainier for the long overdue Orting Lahar.
I also had a seven round sweat-lodge and asked Grandfather for a similar "clean-sweep".
After the hundred foot wall of boiling mud, rock and trees travels through it should be good (next year).
The houses and garbage will be gone (nice job guys! pack yer **** out!), as well as the dike, so we will have much better access.
I hope the twelve pack I bought Paun'owo'loei'ei was enough to get this hex a workin'......

Truthfully, I want to go back there but get disgusted every year and vow to avoid the circus of idiocy.
Or, as I like to Call it:
"Dick and Dora Dorkins' feeshin ad-venture"
I should make a video! Any cinematographer/producers out there? KneeDeep productions (me) has exclusive rights!
Have fun.
