There's a lot of stuff that works when the bite is on. My personal favorite is a white or silver flasher with a short leader and a "army truck" colored hootchie. If I'm using cut-plug, I brine em' first and use a longer leader. For the slower bite, I seem to have better luck with cut-plug.

For silvers, I seem to get a better bite running them from Deep Six divers rather than downriggers. I'll probably be there myself this weekend even though the forecast is looking pretty bad. Good Luck!

Sky # er, you forget about the fish at sea that just entered the barrel due to the rain. Sounds like you were between waves of fish, as it were. At least I hope so, I'm headed up Thursday as well.

Was there last Fri - Sun, limited everyday, with some big hatchery fish. I will be out there again this coming Thur-Sun, fish are still there.
Gimme a friggin' break  ! Eveything mentioned above works just fine or you can go very simple. Drag a cut plug herring around on a 5ft leader with 4/5oz weight, start at 15-25 pulls early in the morning and work down to 50-65 pulls as you get closer to Noon (depending on the Sun/Clear skies).

Just to chime in. Just about anything works in Sekiu!!! What was hot as AM said was the "beads", plain 8mm faceted beads from the local craft shop. 4 to a leader, alternated in either black/red, black/green or black/white on a 18" leader behind a dodger. We were trolling at silver speed (2 - 3 mph). I was a non-believer until last week!! Cut plugs work, army truck or green spatterback hootches work, coyote spoons work, not much doesn't work!!! As for the fish, ya there still there. Sunday morning was a coho rodeo out in the shipping lanes, 3 triples and to many fish to count, including at least a 1/2 dozen that were pushing 15lbs. We did get blown off of the water on Monday after 45 minutes, to much wind.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff \:D \:D

Bullshooter, my experience at Sekiu is that it doesn't matter what you use, it only matters where you are. If you aren't catching fish, move! Keep going out until you find fish. Sometimes, out ends up being way out. If you find a ripline, stay on it. You can't troll too fast for silvers so cover some water until you find the fish, then slow down to stay in the zone.

FISH WHERE THE FISH ARE and pray for nice weather. Nothing better than fishing a calm September morning at Sekiu. Enjoy.
