If it is as good as my Berkley was I would go ahead and throw it away. Mine had a 15 pound king fluctuate from 8.8 lbs to 13 lbs. From what I under stand the Normarks used to be the really accurate electronic one. I bought a manual Shimano 50# for a pretty penny and a 50# king we caught weighed 40 lbs. After careful adjustment it weighed 32 pounds. It would not go above 40. This fish was 46" long or 47" to the tip of the tail and 28.5 inches around. I new it was 50 or really close. The scale is now in the marina waters of Westport. To think I fished this scale out of the freshwater marina at Lapush after my wife dropped it in. It didn't corrode or anything. I just bought a new Manley adjustable 50# and haven't opened it. I need to have some downrigger balls weighed on a certified scale and set it with that. I have taken our postage weight meter and weighed lead weights. They really vary a bunch. I was surprised. I bet a 12 pound downrigger ball could fluctuate a pound either way.
