I live in Duvall and for the past weeks have been treking all over the place fishing for coho. This afternoon I ventured downtown duvall, noticed the public boat launch and fishing area that I'd never bothered visiting, entered the parking lot, and was surprised to see about six trucks w/ empty boat trailers. I've since talked to a few people who've said that there's good coho fishing on the snoqualmie close to the Duvall launch!?!

Coho fishing in my backyard and I didn't even know it...

Has anyone launched there and fished the snoqualmie in that area? I've got a 13' smokercraft with a prop and am trying to figure out if I can safely run it.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hats off to you man, it takes a pretty cool guy to give word on a good fishery going off in his backyard. Major props to you brother. In the same spirit I have good things about the satsop opener, some new fish hitting in the kalama ( which is my pride and joy) and up north your way hit the sky for some all species action. Oh yeah the Green had some good public reports in the TNT and I had a buddy that fished it the other morning and caught a few dark silvers and lost one steelhead, and said that their are a lot of burnt out fish but for a guy to take his family or first time fishing friend it would be cool for someone to see so many fish. Be safe every body this weekend too many stories of guys passing away. Good luck and kudo's to the OG post

I have not fished there in a boat. But there is a log feature about 1/4 a mile down from the launch that would be a problem for a prop boat. It also has a series of rocks just before you get to it that are underwater now. Not sure about the upstream. The fishing in the SnoQ is not worth the potential boat damage IMHO. Take it to the Snohomish and fish near the confluence of the 3 rivers.

I used to launch my 12' inflatable there with an 18 hp outboard. Stay on the west side and you'll be fine. I've run all the way up to almost Carnation farms from Duvall. There is a nasty log mess on the north side of the Novelty Bridge that is impassable in low water. It's best to go in clear water so you can scout out snags and several old concrete abutments. Actually a better place for silvers is either at the launch under the Tolt Bridge or trolling up steam from HighBridge. Down stream of high bridge is good, but there's some fast, low water where you need a short shaft tilted up with plenty of poop to get up the rapids. I've never busted a shear pin, but I always head upstream in case something does happen.
