I've got six of them, two 1311's and four 1421's. I have had no problems with these reels and am always on the lookout for more.

I just bought one of the new Quantum Iron reels and as of yet don't have any complaints. It seems like it's a well made reel.

Quantum reels are good, but when you need to sevice them it will take awhile. They are zebco products and it seems nobody has parts.I sent mine to teds and he sent it off from there.5 weeks and $38.00.I like the old school abu garcia 5500 c3,3 day turn around on service and very affordable.I bought my quantum 18 years ago and it was $90.00 back then, but I guess it was a good deal,I still have it and use it regularly, but it needs drag washers.

They must be trying to address that issue because on the inside flap of the box my reel came in they've got some 'service turnaround guarentee' where they say that they will turn around a service request in some really short period of time (24 or 48 hours I think).

I have a 1310MG that took a back seat to a Curado a couple years ago and now I just use it for plugging.

The spool shaft broke away from the side plate after a couple years of use, but I got a new part from John's in Everett and fixed it myself. Recently the freespool button popped off but I consider that boat rash.

Still casts fine, drag is smooth....

I found one on the bottom of a drained resevoir. Took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together. It works great. Landed several nice kings this year.

I have a 1310mg that I use on a Kenai Special for Alaska Kings and Coho. Still casts like a dream and I love the dial-in anti-backlash. A little weak on the drag system but I like to keep it lighter and thumb it.
