A sportfishing forum with Christine Gregoire will take place October 23rd from 9-10:30am at the Olympia Center (222 Columbia N) in downtown Olympia. The event will be in rooms 101-102. This is the 2nd part of the sportfishing forum series presented by the Washington Chapter of the Recreational Fishing Alliance and the Washington Sportfishing PAC and sponsored by The Reel News and Three Rivers Marine. Dino Rossi joined us for the first part of the forum and met with sportfishing advocates Sept. 27th at the Edmonds Yacht Club.
The structure of the forum will be moderated with 7 questions that the candidate has been able to prepare for and time for Q&A from the audience. To maximize available time, the questions will be in written form and asked by the moderator.
It is exciting to see both gubernatorial candidates willing to meet with the sportfishing community. This is something that has not been done before. Here is our opportunity to show how large of a voting population segment the sportfishing community truly is.
Both candidates also submitted statements to the Reel News on why the sportfishing community should vote for them. Kudos to Jim Goerig! Those statements can be read in the October issue of The Reel News. The sportfishing community is beginning to come into its own politically. We need to keep moving forward and the best way to do that is to heavily attend events such as this. Both Candidates’ PAC questionnaire responses can be obtained at
