Whos got the better eggs? It's time for a showdown.................or better yet, a Hohdown, wadaya say? Come late March, I'll even row and put you and your eggs through the slots first, running my eggs out the back to bat clean-up.

Accually, I prefer to think of the guy in the bow as running chum for me, putting all present steelies on high alert for the prime presentation. \:D

Well, if it's a real Hohdown, I'd suggest we play "fair" and pitch out the pink worm. At least that way, you'd stand a chance. ;\)

But, if bait is your fancy, than so be it. I just cured up 14 jars of this:

Game over! ;\)

Actually, since I can row, we can play Hohball.

The rules are simple:

If the guy in the bow hooks and lands a fish, you score a point and get to stay in the bow and fish.

Miss a fish, and you are out. 1 out = back on the oars.

Normally, if we're fishing for trout, you get 3 misses before you are sent to rowing duty, but with steelhead, it can damn near take all day for 3 misses so you only get one out in Steelhead Baseball.

I'm so there. I'll even bring an extra jar of eggs for you....cuz I'm sure after I hear all the whining about how my eggs RULE, you'll want to fish them too! Everyone else does.... ;\)

Loser pays for dinner and drinks at the Forks Eating Establishment of Choice. ;\)

"Another bourbon, please!" \:D

It's a deal.

I have to be up front with you though. Your rules will be meaningless as I hook fish after fish from the rower's seat. I have a habit of sitting on the hot sidedrifting rod while rowing.

Yeah, well I sure hope you don't break that hot rod from sitting on it....

Hey now, do I get to get in on this one? Perhaps I could sit up front for the first time since I was a kid and put a show on for ya?

You're welcome to the second seat in the front of my boat, Keith. The only thing that would be better than out fishing Parker would be out fishing both of you. \:D

If the world does come to an end, however, and you guys narrowly manage to kick my a$$, I get the dope on this Ultimate Egg Cure. Deal?

Keith knows how to row. Can't say he knows how to fish, but hey, at least he'll bring some A Game eggs for us. ;\)

Iron,
I see you hang your hat in Port A. Do you happen to know Big G or Day's Off or the Mary H. All friends of mine!

Dunno there Bucket. Been here going on 8 years now, and know a lot of serious diehards, but none by those handles. Perhaps by R/T names...

Cheers,
Nog

Nog,
No big deal. They are all old timers in your area. NOFISH and myself spend a conciderable amout of time out in the sound. We'll have to try to meet up and shake hands at the ramp sometime.

I have good eggs.....really really really good eggs, but Keith's eggs are legendary. Parker's eggs are right up there too. Keith's got some black magic sprinkled into his egg cure, seen it first hand!

Sol on the Duc, you might as well bring some wood chips and a Little Chief to sit on because your going to get your ass smoked!

It wouldn't be the first time kid, but you can bet if I'm going down it will be in flames, laughing all the way, and in this case, with a jar of Parker's and Keith's eggs in my free hand. \:D

Whatever happens, I'll have a damn good ol' time.
