Good Morning All -

Left Poulsbo just before daylight yesterday morning and ran up to Point Monroe off Bainbridge Island for some morning fishing with a friend. Twelve salmon to the boat and released eleven blackmouth. Did get to keep one small silver. My partner lost a nice fish tail-walking that spit out the lure. Lots of bait showing and some fish jumping. Only two other boats (niether stayed very long) showed up to fish, but did not see any nests out.

Fish were caught on downrigers @ 45-55 feet (where most of the bait was showing) on Army Truck and Apex lures. The Army Truck brought seven fish to the boat, Apex brought in five. I first started out with a green Hot Spot flasher and a green squid with no action so switched to the Apex and things improved on my rod.

Flat water, overcast sky no rain and a great day fishing with a friend. How could things be better??? We had a good time together.

They ran between 14-18 inches. We were trolling at 3.8 MPH.

Just wanted to let you guys, who are still fishing the salt, know that Jeff Head is still kicking out some nice fish. We fished Sat. and did well for chrome silvers(up to 15#) and bright chums(up to 17#). Only saw a few boats out there and 3 trailers at the launch.
