I've fished the satsop from the bank several times but haven't had a boat to float it till now. Where do you guys put in and take out. Don't worry about me hogging your water, this is a once a year trip for me. Do you put in at schaefer and float to the mouth and row up the chehalis and take out under the bridge?? Hoping to put in a flaot the first week of November. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Steelymann. the float your refering to would be very very long. I have fished the Satsop for years but only do the lower float. It is from the Brady launch to the launch right under the highway 12 bridge. It is a short float but has a few very productive holes. Just an idea!!

I did schafer to the freeway before It is a very long drift something like 12 miles or more. Starts out pretty skinny up top for the first mile or two. Couple of log jams you had to walk the boat around at that time. It's doable but it will be dark by the time you get to the takeout unless you blow through alot of water.
