I'm thinking of trying the Chehalis up from Cosi on Sunday. Maybe it will pick-up with the rain we have, had and the nets being out of the river. Any thoughts or recent reports?

I believe the WHITE guys get to net Friday and Saturday and than the NATIVE American put their nets back in on Sunday through Tuesday and than the White guys come back in for three more big days.. Isn't that just great !!!

If someone knows different feel free to correct me.

Let's not forget steelhead season. They net and keep every fish Hatchery or Native.

Only 2 net-free days left for the month of October.... the 30th and the 31st. Good luck to all!

well here's what I know:

1. Fished 1 of the local rivers, wednesday, nothing. Normally, this time of the year do quite well.

2. Friday, yesterday, fished the river with the "killer boat launch", those that fish this river know what I'm talking about. Same as comment #1........ran clear above the "forks" and fished most of the pockets that have produced fish in past 25+ years.

3. Leaving soon to try the main, major river...then I'll know for sure.

Heard thur the "grapevine" that the tribe is "way over" thier quota. What a rip off for what should be a "good sports fishing area" and a real help to the local area, with additional monies......

Not sure we still need to have both tribal and non-tribal gill netting in the Chehalis system. We are 1 of the VERY few states that allows any type of "gill netting".

WDF---is concerned about "lack of funds", maybe its time for a change in the way they think.........I believe that sports caught fish bring in "way more dollars" than a commerically caught fish. Interesting that Canada have change the fishing regulations to favor more sports caught fish........with good results.

Fishing time!!!!!!!!!

I fished the main river with my brother-in-law above Monte on Thursday. Didn't see a fish caught.

DrifterWA,

Don't forget that at the "roundtable" meeting one of the commi guys asked for more chum since the tribe was way over on their catch.
So, it looks to me like our fish were caught in the ocean.

I did run up from Cosmopolis this morning. It was great fishing, but no catching for the two of us. There didn't seem to be many fish .. none jumping. I did talk to a couple of boats on the river that had one fish . Another boat at the take-out had 3 they got trolling herring. There was no fish checker there today.

There were a few fish caught today. Did the nets come out early?
