I know this has come up before but I couldn't find it with a search. Anyone know of a phone number to check on Hoodsport netting? I'm thinking of going tomorrow 10-26. Thanks!

Another option......try John's Creek a little north of Shelton on Highway 3.

We were there yesterday and had a good time. Very pretty, very clean, no nets. I think low water is best 'cause the channel is more defined and accessable.

The phone number for the Finch Creek Hatchery is (360) 877-5222.
They will be "in the know" when the fishing picks up. They will also pass along the netting schedule.

As far as I know they will start netting this Tuesday.

Good fishing!

Is John's creek by East Pine St/ train tracks in Shelton or farther north about three miles, I see a creek at Bayshore?

John's Creek a few miles north of Shelton. There is a WDFW parking lot just past the creek for clams. Just park there and walk around the golf course to the creek.

Try to get there at low water if you can. We found that the high water tended to spread out the fish.

Even if you can find the netting schedual don't pay attention, The Skok tribe loves to net out side of it.

John's creek had chum everywhere - non-biting today. I think high tide would be better though. It was running out and I just watched the fish jumps recede into the canal.

I did wander by Hoodsport and it was indedd netted today. No jumping fish anywhere. Lots of stacked chums at the hatchery!
