I call that one "Measles" and it has caught more fish than any other KwikFish in my current collection. I've had the plug since 1996. It has taken fish in 3 states including all five species of Pacific salmon (OK the one and only sockeye I ever caught on a KwikFish was actually snagged on top of the head) rainbow trout and Dolly Varden. One of these days I'm sure I will catch a steelhead on that thing while fishing for springers. Famous last words.... or should I say end of an era.
No more drooling necessary, and certainly no chances of catching a steelhead with old "Measles". The "Ring of Life" on this veteran plug was permanently snuffed out when it came face to face with the snag from hell (OK, the Chehalis) this morning. The battle scarred K-15 is now officially history... and boy was there a lot of history over nine seasons.
I don 't know what's more depressing.... losing that plug, or chalking up the first skunk of the season on the
HMS eyeFISH As Parquito would say, my boat went "opher" one pulling plugs today. Unless you guys want to count the 6" sculpin that got double skewered by both siwashes on a K-15.
Feeling the urge to rid myself of wreaking skunk, I made a quick run up to Hoodsport for some flyrod chum action. The dogs did not disappoint.... went 4 for 8 in a couple of hours before the night closure. The biggest was a 15# snaggle toothed buck. Saw a fresh carcass (eyeballs still intact) laying on the beach that was a solid 17-18# at least... WOW big dog!
BTW, nice meeting you there Add-E-Pose (sp?)
