Anyone know Robbin Rhodes? I booked a trip for two, Feb. 2004 and sent a deposit of $150. I read a couple of weeks after, that he was not going to guide anymore. I immediately tried calling and e-mailing Robbin. I eventually received an e-mail offering for someone else to take us on the trip. I declined and requested my deposit refunded. I received no response and have continued to e-mail and have had no response. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get my deposit back?

As a last resort, small claims court... Hopefully he does the 'right' thing before it comes to that though.

2big,

I wouldn't sweat about it yet. Robbin has an excellent reputation to protect and is, I think, an honest, straight-shooting guy.

He is just very busy now with his law enforcement duties and winding down his guide business.

I second it....Robbin is a great guy but has taken a job that only allows him to guide only on the weekends. I have talked to him recently and I can assure you he will make things right. If I were you I would take his advise as to who to go with and go fishing in Feb. You can't beat the Quinault for steelheading. If you got your money back would you just no go fishing on the Quinault? Robbin knows some good guides.

I agree with SQ. Robbin is 100% honest. But he can be a bit disorganized. Call him again and let us know what he says.

I would think that Robin would come through for you eventually. I here he got a job again... in his other profession which is law enforcement. In a new job, getting his life structured around it, etc., there is probably some time management difficulty with juggling his guiding stuff too.

Thank you for the responses. I do beleive Robbin is an honest hard working person. I booked the trip because of all the good things that has been said about him. I will continue to attempt to reach him. As far as another guide, I am a little gun-shy. Overall, I have not had good expereinces with guided trips.

2BigFish,

I've had the pleasure of fishing with Jesse Zalonis on Oregon's Nestucca River. The guy treats you like family and will catch you a butt-load of fish. He's dependable and honest. Give him a ring and he'll set
you up for a great experience. 503-392-5808

Good fishing,
Fletch
