Well I know that a lot of people that visit this site have a vast knowledge about Alaska and the charter operations up there. During this coming summer I was hoping to get a job up in Alaska with some kind of operation where I will make a descent amount of money and hopefully be able to fish a little. I have been a bit hesitant to work up in Alaska because of the horror stories I have heard from my friends where they did get paid at all. So my question is does anyone have any good recommendations for charter operations in Alaska that you have been to or heard of?

Any recommendation and contact info would be great.

Thank you
King Killer

EDIT POST...
I miss read the post...new reply:

I would first be sure you can fillet fish(and I mean fast)
or be a hard worker and get in to one of the big lodges as a worker..deck hands are also an okay possition but are harder to come by.

good luck

Give Bob Yanak a call. His son runs a charter out of Sitka.

Remember that in many cases, you'll be largely working for tips ... so what you make will be based heavily upon how you perform.

If you end up deckhanding ... always make to sure to know EXACTLY what your captain expects of you. Will make thngs run much smoother! Good luck.
