We dug Thursday and Friday. It was the best digging I can remember in years. Limits took;less than a half hour.

When we got to the beach Thursday, a bit aftert 4:00, there were folks headed back up with limits already. We were able to limit Friday before dark.

The size was not like the good ole days, but they averaged about 5-6 inches, if you were careful to only dig the bigger shows. Tonight is a dinner of fried feet. Yum! Yum!

Happy to hear all is well on the local beaches. Been 4-5 years since I've dug one locally ... maybe that's why they're doin' a little better

I had excellent digging on the North Beach with my daughters.... EASY limits all the way around. They were showing everywhere we looked... and much bigger clams than the ones we found in front of the Casino during the last dig.

We got our limits pretty easy on Saturday but they seemed smaller to me. Maybe it was just our spot. The night digs are a trip looking down the beach at all the lanterns. 1st time I've done that & almost could be dangerous. Saw a few get rolled by waves. Had chowder tonite, The bodies will get smoked & diggers fried. mmmmm good.

We got our limits very quickly on Friday at Klipsan Beach on the LB Peninsula. We finished well before dark. If you picked the better shows we were able to get some nice clams. Saturday was a little tougher as they were not showing too well. Took us an hour to get the five limits but we had alot of fun... except for all the cleaning I had to do.

How do the clams taste smoked? Do you use a similar brine to a smoked salmon brine? Sounds good anyway.

Smoked clams are awesome. Once you try it you'll be hooked. I use a dry brine for clams & only smoke em for a couple hours. Leave a little neck on them for putting a skewer through & hang them in the smoker.

Quick limits at Twin Harbors beach on Friday nite. The surf pick up on Saturday - it was crashing over the breakwater at Westport during high tide on Saturday. Digging was a little tougher Saturday night...
