Took my 13 year old son, my buddy, and my boat down to Hoodsport this morning. Caught one fish after another on a small pink jig under a float then suddenly it seemed most of the fish were gone. We fished for a couple of hours with basically no action. Finally about the time we needed to leave the fish were back but they now had no interest in the jig and bobber that they were so crazy about earlier. I've only been down there a couple of times before, once each year, but there seemed to be less fish this trip. Still it was a nice trip and it was fun to see some salmon giving my son's arm a workout.

Six for eight this morning. Gotta agree... definitely less fish this year.

Less fall chum seems to be the norm at many of the hatcheries that produce fall chum. Certainly not expected due to the record setting summer chum runs. Wait and see I guess.
