I wouldn't let Osama touch one of those disgusting farm raised so called fish. Well, maybe Osama.
My in-laws are Swedish and they went back for a visit a few years back. The place they werestaying was on a river where the wild Atlantics are quite huge. Anyway, they shut the river down so the King of Sweden could go fishing. Can you imagine them shutting down the Sol Duc so GW could fish, LOL?

Cool!
I didn't think until you mentioned it, but I did it for the first time this year also. Strangest part was that the humpies (two of them, actually), came this year on October 20, on the Bogie, while fishing for Kings. First, this being an even year I would not have expected that. Second, I never knew that Humpies ran in the Bogie. The Humpies weren't much of a thrill on a plug.

Hey T Dodge, are you sure those "humpies" weren't jacks. I don't think there are Pinks in the Quil system.

Captain,
I wouldn't have made the identification. It was our guide who made the ID. He was amazed, but seemed sure they were humpies.

Now you just have to hop a flight to Tokyo and catch yourself a Cherry Salmon to bang all six Pacific Salmon species in the same year None of the Forks area rivers (thankfully) support more than a handful of pinks & chums because we don't have the estuary system for good rearing conditions since they migrate right to the salt after hatching. That being said, a few odballs are caught here and there. We got as chum in the Sol Duc last week ... had another a few years back. Even saw a few spawing below Rayonier a couple of years back. There's a small popualtion of chum that spawns above Wilson's ramp on the Bogey every year. I know of a pink being caught out of the 'Duc by Robbo a couple of years ago. I've also seen chum in the Hoh & Calawah. Here's a humpy that we got out of the Hoh in the fall of '99. YUCK!
