Finally got all my pre testing done and waiting to see if they accept me to put me on the list. As it stands now there is 150 people waiting for the procedure. Lost 25lbs so far but they want me to build up my muscle tone. Which means I'll have to row my db more. Stamina is dropping slowly. The Duck(Jim Marquis)

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

If you know anyone who isn't an organ donor, suggest they become one. As you know there is a significant shortage of organs available for transplant.

When you sign an organ donor card, you're signing up to save someone's life.

Best of luck to you Jim.........our thoughts will be with you. Keep us posted.

That is a great idea for anyone to be on the doners list but they don't use live doners except in San Fransisco and Denver and that is still very rare. Re: If a match can't be found and the patient is dieing. It is almost all cadaver doners. They are doing at UW 120 to 130 transplant a year (liver) Sometimes I like to talk to someone other than my great wife.

Hope everything works out for you Duck, and on the bright side I'd say you got the best reason going to be on the river daily.

I was never a hippie but plenty of my friends were so a few things you might want to remember:
Western doctors are notorious for "treating the symptom and not the cause", the liver, pancreas, and adrenal glands are in extremely close cahoots, make sure (I'd imagine you already have) they check out.

I've tried a million "hippie home remedys" and almost all of them are junk. I did find three legit ones though, echinacea for immune system, hawthorne for blood pressure (whether high or low), and milk thistle for liver.
Just because they helped me does'nt mean they'll help you but hey, they might see you through to your TX.

Again best wishes.

StillyD , thanks for the advice any and all sure helps. They don't want me to use milkthistle because it hasn't been tested how it reacts to prescript drugs. I'll be tested at least once a month to make sure that I haven't been smoking pot(marinol) or drinking alcolhol or any other illicit drugs. By the way if any of you or your friends have had a liver transplant, I sure would like to know how they were able to come up with the 4 to 6000.00 a month for the presciptions. Most insurance does not cover the drugs that need to be taken.I have a little to much in assets to get medicaid which does cover it. Jim
