I fished the Humptulips this past weekend and didn't see or hear of any fish. I understand that the nets were in last week, which may explain things. I did luck into some nice, tasty chanterelles, so the day wasn't a complete loss.

I have the good fortune of having access to my father-in-law's tree farm, which borders a half-mile stretch of the Humpy just up from Copalis Crossing. It's a straight stretch of the river without any distinctive holes - looks to me like it would be best fished when the river is really low. Access to the river is kinda sketchy due to the thick brush, but I'm considering hacking out a path (napalm?) and putting in a rope ladder to get down to the bank.

Anybody out there have any experience with / advice about this stretch of the Humptulips? This river is new to me - I usually fish the Sky and Sno.

Thanks,
