What knots do you fellas like the best for tying up your Steelhead rigs when drift fishing? Also, what knot do you like when tying onto your barrel swivel?

I like the "Trilene Knot" as it's known. I called it a double clinch until I saw it named differently. When you use saliva on the knot as you are tightening it never comes undone. http://www.steelheader.net/knots/trilene_knot.htm

I use the Polamar Knot whenever I can~I believe (I may be wrong) it's been tested to have greatest resistance to breaking compared to other convententional knots. http://www.steelheader.net/knots/polamar_knot.htm When I can't wrap around the object I'm tying to I use the Trilene Knot that Sky Guy posted.

Sky-Guy ....So that's what it's called....a trilene knot. I have been using it for many, many years, but never knew it had a name. (maybe someone finally dubbed it?) I even tested it up in Canada at a knot testing contest back in the mid '80's. It tested at 100% (actually slightly over....go figure). Incidentally, my Dad had taught me the common double clinch, so I tested that too.....80% tops ) I like quick, easy, efficient.....Sky Guy's knot is the answer for me.

I just use a good old clinch knot when possible.
If I'm tying up some beefy monofilament, I'll use the Rivers Inlet knot.
If I'm connecting together two pieces of monofilament, I'll use the Uni Knot.
On the rare occassions that I do use a braided line, it's the Polamar knot.
I think that about covered it.

Rivers Inlet on my main line to swivel, double clinch on the leader side. I've used Palomars on jigs before to keep them from shifting but I need a lot of sunlight these days.

I like the Clinch knot. It seems like alot of guys don't like it though. I can't ever remember a time where I had a Clinch knot fail because of slippage. I have broken the knot when snagged, but thats about it.

I use the improved clinch knot when drifting with mono. No swivel. Just direct to the mainline through a piece of tubing with pencil lead. Easy to retie, no leader, and adjustable. I also use the blood knot to join the mono so I just have to replace half my spool. I used braided with a bobber for the first time Saturday. So I used a polamar knot to the swivel and weight. Mono leader tied with an improved double clinch knot. I tried to tie the double clinch but apparently brought it back through by mistake. Seemed to work fine. Then an improved clinch knot to the hook.

Double cinch knot.........ALL the time!!!! Even when I tie braided line to mono...........never had I had a problem with the knot coming untied. The comment about "wetting the line" is very important.......and slow as you cinch the knot tight. I laughed at the comment about "bright sun light"............I know that feeling!!!! To the hook an egg loop,I believe every bit as strong as a clinch.
To a swivel the trilene or palomar.

Uni Knot for me. Ties anything to anything. Works great to join two pieces of mono (tippet). Never had the knot fail (loop can break, though). Then there's the "impossible" egg lop which is why I baecme a fly fiyfisherman.
