I have heard they are going to dredge the main shipping channel from mouth of the Columbia into Portland in the spring of 2005. Has anyone else heard this? Sounds like our springer fishing may be a little murkier than expected!!

I read this the other day as well. The article didn't describe the precise areas or times. I wondered what the effect might be on fishing as well as the likely effects on fish in the river.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

they will dredge the first 100 miles to a depth of 43 feet for shipping. It s an avg of 3 ' for the length. I cannot find the article on where they will dump the sediment but when I heard about it a year ago it was interesting.
