Never fished it myself but I have heard it dosent fish very well untill late in the season Feb and later.

When there are fish there arnt very many and pickens are fairly sparse.

Very pretty river up there though and lots of real fishy water.

From what I understand there arnt alot of nates left in the Q and most of the fish that do go up there are the late season Quinault hatchery fish which are mostly big and unclipped.

The Quinault is full of native fish... just later timed, like most OP systems. The upper river is not one that usually produces early in the season (now). But get into March and April and it can be very good. Water clarity is not the same problem as on the Queets or Hoh but it can be turbid at times.

If I were at the Lodge I would book a trip with one of the Tribal guides for the lower river. That would be fun.
