Anyone own a Float coat? I am pretty set on buying the Stormy Seas Puget Sound Pilots coat, as seen here: http://stormyseas.com/extremeparkas.html Just wanted to see if any of you had either the Mustang or StormySeas Coats with built in inflatable flotation and what you thought of them. They look like the ticket to me.

Sky, I've got the Stormy-Seas jacket and also the vest. I wouldn't go with out 1 or the other. Not even in a drift boat. I insisted that the entire family have them and use them. They make a nice vest for the little ones. By the way YES they work and comfortable also!
SOL, NOFISH and COWBOY all have them.

I think they are made right there in Poulsbo. Which one do you have, and do you have the Alaskan coat? I want one of those too.

Sky, The family and I have the NP500's and the V200's. A few years ago I special ordered a NS9000 in camo for duck hunting from my sled. Yes they are right here in Poulsbo but only available threw their dealers. Swains or Fisheries Supply is where I found the best prices.

Sky-Guy: I've had my Stormy Sea North Pacific jacket going on 8 years now.....I like it for it's warmth in addition to it's flotation ability. It's not waterproof, but it dries out fast if you don't get your raincoat on over it right away. I'm sure they have products out now with waterproof shells. I've read more than one thread about people not threading on their CO2 bottle tight.....not a good deal! The Stromy Sea coats have a manual inlate tube also in case all else fails or you need extra bouyancy. I'll be first in line for another one after I wear this one out

We have the Mustang float coat jackets which are extremely warm in the cold. I bought my wife the Stormy Seas at PA Swain's going through. She loves it.

I started using the V200 vest this year... much better for fishing/comfort than the traditional PFD. I think they are in the $150 to $170 range.

I just picked up the Alaskan Sweater yesterday. Looks like it will be real comfy for rowing and work as a good layer while out on the salt. Link to Sweater: http://stormyseas.com/lighterjacket.html I paid $183 inc tax for it at Seattle Marine. (www.seamar.com) If you have never been to Seattle Marine you are missing out, way cool stuff!
