Thanks to Salmo, I am redoing the poll with more range of options. I appreciate his input. So, which answer most closely meets your thoughts after 14 months in Iraq

Have you gone back and listened to that presentation again, in hindsight?
Watch his body language and tone of voice as he presents the 'evidence'....
Eddie-
I don't cast votes in 99% these polls....but the question is a good one.
In the sense of who you are talking to in this forum, I'm guessing we all knew how we felt about things before they happened and that Elvis's comments are close to accurate. This is clearly not the case if you look the polls done by any of the independent polling organizations.
For Bush its ugly and he knows it....funny but it looks like the only person who can save him now is Osama Bin Laden, either by suddenly being 'captured' at the eleventh hour or by orchestrating another major terrorist attack on this country's soil.
Ironic that the guy has had to tell the arab world that 'he is not Sadaam' AND rely heavily on Osama Bin Laden for reelection.

I ask everyone to bear in mind that this poll is only germane to the war in Iraq, not the "war on terrorism." (which is a misnomer)
Eric - I don't know if capturing bin Laden is going to help much anymore. Now there's that guy Zarqawi who will probably pick up the ball and run with it. I read, too, that the al Qaeda is much more autonomous now, operating out of 60-plus countries. We thought after capturing Saddam things would improve drastically. As we've learned, it seems to be the exact opposite.
I'm curious, too, what the reaction of the American people will be when there's an attack on US soil prior to November.

yer right of course gh, the effect of osamas capture would be purely psychological and have little impact on al qaeda's ability to wage their war.
You know how elections can turn though in the last ten days for one candidate or the other based purely on psychological factors....Carter v. Reagan as an example?

Um, KK, we never created Saddam. That is a BS story that has gone around lefty internet sites now for 13 years. The Baathists have always been communists and supported by communists. Did we assist Saddam during his war with Iran? Yes but only barely. We provided to him ONLY intelligence concerning Iran. We also gave him agricultural equipment that HE later used to create WMD's. If you truely think we supported and created Saddam, think about how many US made weapons we destroyed in Gulf War 1? Tell you, NONE, NADDA and nothing. The majority of their weapons, including WMD's came from the USSR, France and Libya. Remember, the Isrealies blowing up his "French" made nuclear reactor? Thank Gods for the Jewish state that day. Please, if your going to spout off about "how we created him", get your facts straight.
As for the poll or any other poll right now, they are mostly skewed because none of the good news is being reported out of Iraq. Only the bad. Remember, we have yet to hear in mass, any of our soldiers report back as to what is really happening. You know, minor things like schools being built or the power grind running at about 60% MORE than when Saddam was in power. Don't forget the hospitals that have been built.
Yeah, all negative............This war is a success bar none. We have done more with less. Al Queda is in Iraq now and this Iraqi conflict is in direct relation to the "War on Terrorism". I would rather kill those Islamo-facists over there than fight them here.
