After getting home from work yesterday and hearing that the Sonics picked a high school center, I thought "Cool, he must have a huge upside." Then I learned he was white and thought, "oh no, not another Vladimir Stepania or Tommy Burleson." After hearing some of the expert comments and seeing some footage of him, he looks like a good choice. After listening to Rick Sund, this young team might not be to bad in another year...

Jeff - I remember Tommy Burleson and who could forget Dennis Awtrey???? I do remember one game with Too Tall Tommy when he was playing Jabbar. Jabbar hauled off and hit Tommy and by God, Too Tall came back and just ate Kareem's lunch. Never saw it again however.

Eddie, what I remember about "too tall Tommie" was him trying to dunk the ball @ 7-2" and clunking off the rim one too many times. This kid looks like he has good hands though.

Seems like Seattle is a one sport town. Meaning only one sport at a time can do well. If the Hawks are up the M's and Sonics are in the dumper.
