Of course I've never done anything about it but I've always thought of myself as a comedy writer...I've got a tv box full of junk i've written some funny, some not...notebooks full of half written comedy sketches, scraps of paper with one liners on them, matchbook covers with set-ups on them, rough pilot ideas sketched out on toilet paper....about eighty jokes all typed out.

I use the stuff from time to time in normal conversation and when i post here or there, so if you check out what I write in here, you've probably heard half of it in one form or another. Maybe one day I'll go through this junk again and do something with it...

Til then, I'm stockpiling ideas away in my idea vault. Today's idea, thank you aunty and elvis is the title of this thread...

the premise is obvious, Dumbya Bouche and Dick run a wacky course of foreign policy obstacles failing spectacularly while the dub-over voices make everything seem roses and light.

stage one '7/11 - 9/11', stage two the 'osama drama', stage three 'messopotatomania', stage four 'election rejection'.....

...or something, feel free to pitch in...

for the big finish have them lose the 'election rejection' but go home believing they won.

After it's fully developed, maybe you could advertise your new show on Air anti-America.

It would play well to their very small handfull of dedicated listners---and I hear that they're desperate for sponsers--they're having a hard time attracting adverisers to pay their bills.

You'ld think that with "enlightened" hosts like Stuart Smalley, that ratings would go through the roof and sponsers would be begging to be associated with their programing.

Maybe if they just get Phil Donahue to host a show--then they'll really speak to the 'heart and soul' of the American people......Maybe

Anyway, your idea for a new show sounds very promisssing.

its not a show diltard its a comedy sketch, much like you'd see on saturday night live or almost live, madtv, sctv, kids in the hall, white house press briefings, etc, etc, etc

...every bit as lame (lame!, lame!, lame!) too, i know....

If your 'comedy sketch' holds up to SCTV's writing/performing--I can't wait to see it.
