KK,
I would have to read PR's words from that book in their entire context to be able to comment on them.
I don't have the book you cited, but I just ordered one of his more recent books this morning--'Bring it on'--He address' some often asked questions in that book with a biblical perspective.
As for the ADL, they were among the most vocal against Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ'--whom PR defended and encouraged people to see. I think anyone that watched that movie will agree that the Romans come across alot worse than some of the Jewish elders that encouraged Pilot---In the movie it was the Peter (a Jewish man) that empathized with Jesus and helped him walk and carry the cross and begged the Romans to stop flogging him. I personally don't know of anyone that came out of that movie looking to hold any group of people today accountable for what a very small handfull of their ancestors did over 2000 years ago. I still love Jews and Italian food.
There are just as many Jews who recognize PR as a friend and supporter of Jews and Israel--Kristol(s), Michael Medved, David Horowitz, Rabbi Daniel Lappin and Rabbi Schmuelly to name just a few.
If you want to get into a biblical discussion about the Jewish state of Israel's right to exist---It doesn't start with it's 1948 establihment--it starts with God's promise to Abraham and the two sons he had (Isaac and Ishmael).
My support for Israel is not based on any pre/post raptue theory--I simple believe they have a right to a homeland---so do the Palestinians. However, they've turned down every settlement offer that has been made to them though.
It's the Islamic people that have repeatedly tried to drive Jews in to the sea---not the other way around. Every time the surrounding Islamic nations have tried to terminate the Jewish state of Israel--they found out pretty fast how tough the Jewish people can be when needed. They have sought to co-exist with the P's and offered them settlements, but they P's want ALL or nothing. Until they're are willing to give a little like the Jews (which is unlikely to happen) we'll continue to see problems in the region.
For anyone out there that hasn't looked into this much and wonders why all the BS--Ask yourself, which side hates and seeks to kill every member of the other side who has the nerve to draw breath? Which side is looking to simply co-exist?
