I'm not interested in hearing about any far off places. I go fishing to relax, and my experience isn't improved by either combat type fishing or extensive planning/traveling. But, I don't even bring a rod on vacation even if I know the fishing might be good due to the extra planning/logistics required.

I suppose I'm in the minority.

I like seeing the pics and hearing the tales. Post some of the before and after fishing shots too...
I fish on most of my vacations even if it's just screwing around with the kids.
I've been lucky enough to fish a couple of far off places and like to see pics from places I might never go.
Dave...you posted on another thread about a fly reel. I used a Billy Pate down in Belize and really liked it. They are expensive but nice.

Seastrike: I have a Pate Marlin and an Islander MR2 that will be my fly reels in Panama. But they are too big and bulky for the 8/9 spey rod I'm gonna buy as soon as I get home.

I have taken sialfish on both of those reels, but have yet to cast to a marlin. I'm not sure any reel is enough for a big marlin. I hope to never find out. I'm not into three hour battles.

I just cant put down the steelhead rod. The farthest fishing trip ive been on is to the OP. Salmon, Snook, bonefish, marlin, barracuda, whatever... They dont do nuthin for me, i need stories of winter steelhead past and February Natives that strung you 2 miles down river before throwing the hook. Pictures of black back chrome. I need help... beathead

However, throw some string clad Senoritas into whatever you post and its all good with me wink

Okay: I leave tonight and will post lots of pix when I return. I don't think they allow photos in my favorite Panam City bar but will try.
