Maybe they have forgotten which side their toast is buttered on?

If we just have to have it in this State then Enumclaw would be my next choice. As far away from King County as possible.

I second that. King County needs another attraction like A Pig needs lipstick.

The new Sonics arena will already screw up I-405 traffic enough....

Why Nascar, though? I mean the sport doesn't have much of a draw in King County.....

Although I heard Gregoire said that the possibility is small that the Nascar thing will work out...

Spokane might meet their "criteria."

Enumclaw is in King County, so how about Tri-Cities? The same people who get drunk and watch the hydros can stay drunk and watch cars go around in a circle.

Geez where in WA would people find a bunch of billboards going around in circles entertaining...?

Lewis Co. Would be my first pick...But I think somewhere near Ephrata would be my next. Give 'em a nice break from Cow-tipping.

I'm not doubting you, I don't know anything about the Nascar scene so I'm curious to know. Wouldn't it just be like a single Nascar race per year? Yea I guess that would bring a big draw of people in but how much of an effect would just one day's worht of activities be?

Again, I'm not doubting you, I dont kow squat when it comes down to Nascar...

Spokane has plenty of lodging and soon will have abundant reservation steelhead, if Dave's new's paper article holds true, and the tribes began to net the upper reaches of the Columbia and it's tributaries. It's a win-win situation, one would think and Idaho is a close neighbor with lots of Nascar fan's. We need to throw the Eastside this bone, as we have all kinds of attractions here on the Westside that's paid for with Tax money collected from all of Washington's Citizens.

With Nascar in Spokane it may help to ease the traffic congestion here on the Westside and many fans will move to Spokane to be near the track. Also, Nascar fan's here on the Westside wouldn't mind driving to Spokane, as they can practice some of the manuevers that the Racers demonstrate during race day, when heading East on I-90.

My vote is for Spokane with Tri-Cities also a consideration.

Forks, Washington. There it is.

Lewis County wants NASCAR, but NASCAR doesn't want anything to do with Lewis County.

When I lived down there they were talking about building a powerplant near Chehalis to spur industrial development and the Good Ole Boys shiat a brick and freaked out complaining that industrial development would "ruin" Lewis County's pastoral culture and open the gates for "undesireable elements" which is Lewis County's lace curtain way of saying "Commies & Ni--ers." That was in the late 80's. I wonder if they ever got that power plant built. This is also the same area that considers modern sanitation systems, driver's licences, and public education to be Commie conspiracies.

The plant was built. What you are saying is true. The people in this area are stuck in the 60's there afraid of change. But there is nothing they can do execpt help the flow along in the way they feel it should go .
